ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has summoned Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid for threatening to file cases against the opposition.

According to reports of Baaghi TV, the Supreme Court has fixed for hearing the contempt of court petition against Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid. A three-member bench headed by the Chief Justice will hear the case.

According to Supreme Court sources, the contempt case against Federal Minister Sheikh Rashid will be heard in the Supreme Court on December 15th, 2020.

The contempt of court petition has been filed by the chairperson of Pakistan Girl Guides Association. Sheikh Rashid is accused of forcefully evacuating the land of allotted to  Girl Guides and adding it to the hospital. However, the court had barred him from taking over the land.

It may be recalled that earlier, former Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar had ordered the restoration of Pakistan Girl Guides Association headquarters and maintaining its agreement, along with directing that the district administration and some political personalities should stay away from the matter. However, this is not the case after which the Supreme Court has summoned the Interior Minister once again on December 15th, calling it a contempt of court.
