Islamabad police, on the instructions of Inspector General (IG) Qazi Jameel-ur-Rehman, have arrested an accused who allegedly raped a girl by swindling her out of a job.
According to details, the accused was arrested after a case of alleged sexual abuse of a girl was registered in the Shehzad Town area of Islamabad on Wednesday.
According to the registered case, the victim girl from Peshawar had called the police on their helpline at 01:30 am (PST) on Wednesday and sought help. The text of the first information report (FIR) states that “accused Rana Sohail Akhtar had called the girl on WhatsApp and offered her a job in Islamabad.”

The victim told police that she reached Islamabad Motorway Chowk around 06:00 pm on Tuesday from where accused Rana Sohail Akhtar put her in a car and kept her on the roads till late at night.
According to the girl’s statement, the accused took her to the hostel of Akhtar Hameed Khan National Centre for Rural Development (AHK-NCRD) at 11:30 pm and said that she would stay alone for the night. According to the FIR, the accused returned to the hostel at night and sexually assaulted her. Meanwhile, the victim called the police for help.

According to police officials, the accused left the victim at Rawal Dam Chowk at 02:30 pm where the Shehzad Town police personnel, after recording her statement, shifted her to a polyclinic hospital for medical treatment along with a lady constable.

It may be recalled that in a separate case of sexual harassment, torture and striping a girl naked and filming the scene in Islamabad by a group of people including Usman Mirza, police have arrested six accused.
