The Israeli government has issued a warning notice and asked all Israeli citizens in the Sinai Peninsula to leave the area immediately.
The Sinai Peninsula, located between the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea, has long been a popular destination for Israeli tourists seeking sun, sea, and relaxation.
The Israeli Navy says it killed five Palestinian hiding on Zikim beach, close to the border with the Gaza Strip.
“In the last few hours, Navy control units identified five terrorists who were hiding in the Zikim area, in Israeli territory,” the military says.
Footage published by the Israel Defense Forces shows sailors of the 916th Patrol Squadron opening fire at the suspects in the area.
The Israel Defense Forces publishes the names of 26 soldiers killed during fighting with Hamas terrorists on the border with the Gaza Strip during the past day. Their families have been notified.
