Javed Akhtar has filed a complaint against Kangana Ranaut

Lyricist Javed Akhtar has filed a criminal complaint against Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut for making defamatory statements against him on various news channels. The complaint has been filed before the Metropolitan Magistrate at Andheri, Mumbai.

The complaint has been filed after Kangana Ranaut, in an interview to a news channel, had allegedly caused harm to Javed Akhtar’s reputation with her statements. Javed Akhtar has asked for proceedings against Kangana Ranaut on the basis that the video interview garnered views in lakhs on various online platforms. The veteran lyricist has claimed that Kangana Ranaut dragged his name unnecessarily in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.

Kangana Ranaut has been demanding justice for the late actor and has often expressed her views on Twitter. She has also given interviews to various news channels, demanding justice for SSR. Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Bandra home on June 14. A CBI investigation regarding the same is underway.

Javed Akhtar will have to verify to the court that complaint has been filed by him. The verification of the complaint is pending. Javed Akhtar’s lawyer, Niranjan Mundargi, refused to divulge details of the complaint.

Kangana Ranaut is in her hometown, Himachal Pradesh currently and is busy with the wedding of her cousin brother.
