K-Electric Seeks Hike in Electricity Tariff

KARACHI,  Sep 04 (Online Int’l): The K-Electric has filed an application with  National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) seeking a hike in electricity price by Rs 1.54 per unit.

According to media reports, the request for raise in tariff has been made under the mid-term review of the multi-year tariff. Permission has been sought of Rs 143.86 billion investment and to increase its profit rate from 17.05 percent to 41.94 percent.

65 paisa per unit hike has been requested by the K-Electric under working capital, 10 paisa under loan cost review, 29 paisa under growth and 50 paisa under normal working capital.

Hearing of this petition will  take place on September 16.
