Lahore, 7th May: Kashif Mirza, President All Pakistan Private Schools Federation, has rejected the government’s decision to close educational institutions till July 15, calling it an enemy of education.

According to the President, the economic massacre of private educational institutions is being carried out. Teachers’ salaries are fixed and 90% of school buildings are rented across the country. PM should announce an “education relief package” for private schools.

Kashif said that with the closure of educational institutions by July, 50% of educational institutions will be completely closed and 1 million people will be unemployed.

The President All Private Schools Federation stated that the Government should issue SOPs and announce to open all schools across the country from June 1, otherwise we will be forced to open schools under our SOPs.

Decision taken regarding closure of educational institutions across the country

Classes can be continued from 7 to 11 a.m. school time with social distancing. All educational institutions have opened in many countries, including Wuhan and Iran, according to Kashif Mirza.

Mirza suggested that instead of canceling the board exams and ruining the future of the students, the board exams should be held by maintaining social distance and imposing duties on all additional public and private teachers by making public and private schools and colleges examination centers.

“Government should stop unconstitutional measures. Declaring Sindh government’s ordinance and notification on fees as unconstitutional and illegal by Sindh High Court is a victory for the principled position of Private Schools Federation”, said Kashif Mirza.

Lockdown to be lifted from Saturday in Pakistan

Notifications regarding fees are in conflict with Articles 18, 3, 4, 5, and 25 (1), 37 and 38 of the Constitution, discriminatory and illegal.

Kashif Mirza clarified that they are bound by the decision of the Supreme Court regarding fees. To deal with the spirit of humanity and quarantines, Corona Educational Relief Fund has been set up to pay the fees of deserving students across the country.
