KPK Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has ordered release of required funds to the Home Department.
The funds are supposed to be used for the payment of Fine, Diyat, Arsh and Daman of 21 convicted prisoners, who were languishing in various jails of the province after the completion of their sentences.
The order has been given on the special directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan. According to details, 11 poor and needy convicted prisoners confined in default of payment of fine after completion of their sentence have been released on Thursday from various jails of the province on payment of amount of fines by the provincial government.
Process for depositing the amounts in courts on behalf of 10 convicts who are confined in jails due to inability to pay the amounts of Diat, Arsh, Daman, and compensation despite serving out their substantive sentences has also been initiated to affect their release before Eid to enable them to celebrate Eid with their families. The prisoners at the time of release were also given gifts on behalf of the chief minister
