Lahore, 11th November: Jamaat-ud-Dawa’s spokesperson along with three leaders have been convicted in two more cases.
According to Baaghi TV, the anti-terrorism court convicted three Jamaat-ud-Dawa leaders in two more cases, while five leaders were also indicted in six cases earlier.
Judge Ijaz Ahmed Butter of ATC Court No. 3 heard the case No. 24/19 in the court in which Prof. Zafar Iqbal and Yahya Mujahid were sentenced to a total of 16 years, while Prof. Hafiz Abdul Rehman Maki was sentenced to one-year imprisonment. Similarly, Yahya Mujahid has been sentenced to 16 years imprisonment in another case 29/19.
Five more Jamaat-ud-Dawa leaders have been indicted in six more cases in ATC Court No. 3 on Wednesday. Presented in the court of Judge Ijaz Ahmed Butter of TC Court No. 3, on this occasion the court heard the case number 15/19, 21/19, 22/19, 27/19, 31/19. The next hearing is scheduled for November 16.
Anti-Terrorism Court No. 3 also heard case No. 40/19 against Jamaat-ud-Dawa leader Mohammad Ashraf in which the statements of witnesses are being recorded while cross-examination by Naseeruddin Nayyar and Mohammad Imran Fazal Gul Advocate is underway. Strict security arrangements were made for the leaders of Jamaat-ud-Dawa to be produced in court.
It is to be noted that Hafiz Abdul Salam bin Muhammad, Hafiz Abdul Rehman Maki, Zafar Iqbal, Yahya Mujahid, Luqman Shah and Hafiz Masood-ur-Rehman have been sentenced in different cases.
