Lockdown extended in Punjab after increasing coronavirus cases

Lahore, 13th April: With an increasing number of coronavirus cases in Punjab, the authorities have extended the lockdown.

According to Baaghi TV‘s reports, the Punjab government on Tuesday extended the smart lockdown for two more weeks amid the rise in coronavirus cases in the province.

A notification has been issued by Punjab Primary and Secondary Health which recommended the extension of smart lockdown.

The notification stated that a complete ban on social, religious or any other gatherings will continue in areas with more than an 8 per cent rate of COVID-19 positivity cases.

Shops and markets will close at 6 pm, while, everything will be closed on Saturday and Sunday.

The cities with more than an 8 per cent positivity rate include Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Jaranwala, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, Bahawal Nagar, Chiniot, Hafizabad, Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Pak Pattan, Toba Tek Sindh and Sheikhupura.

According to reports, Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid warned on Monday to impose a complete lockdown in Punjab if people will not follow the coronavirus SOPs to curb the spread of the virus.
