Martyrdom of Imam Hussain(AS) is a metaphor for standing firm and sacrificing: President Alvi

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alawi has said that the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) is a metaphor of standing firm and sacrifice in the face of tyrants and oppressors.

On the occasion of Ashura Day, President Dr. Arif Alvi in his message to the nation said that Muharram gives the spirit by which we can face the greatest test.

The President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi said that we should work for the development of the country by putting mutual hypocrisy and sectarianism above all else.

In his message, President Arif Alawi said that the nation had demonstrated perfect discipline in overcoming a global epidemic like Corona. The threat of Corona is not over yet, hopefully the whole nation will ensure the implementation of security measures on Ashura Day.

He further said that I pray that this Islamic year will prove to be a year of development and prosperity of our country.
