Met Gala 2021: Some of the Best Celebrity Looks!

One of the biggest fashion events of the year, the Met Gala, took place recently at its usual venue of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in New York. Each year, the event takes place to raise funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.

Held on Monday, September 13, the stars did not hold back and spared no expense in wearing the most outrageous, fancy, and show-stopping looks they could, despite the coronavirus.

According to reports, about 400 celebrities – actors, athletes, and artists – attended the event, all of whom were either vaccinated or tested negative for COVID-19. Last year’s met gala was canceled due to the virus.

For the first time, American rapper Megan Thee Stallion also attended the Ball, dressed in Coach. The rapper said, “I’m very excited to be here,” but also admitted that it was “a little strange” to be in a crowd after isolation.

“I’ve got used to being isolated from people, but I’m back now, so I’m excited to see everyone,” she said.

Kim Kardashian made a statement in an all-black down, covering her quite literally from head-to-toe. Her look, designed by Demna Gvasalia of Balenciaga, caused quite a buzz and was the subject of conversation – and memes – for many.

Vanessa Friedman, the fashion editor of the New York Times, joked on Twitter, stating, “Ok, wait, Kim Kardashian is here Met Gala. Really. Maybe? We think it’s her?”

American singer Billie Eilish, dressed in Oscar de la Renta, also turned heads in her beautiful peach gown. The singer was also one of the hosts for the night.

Her brother, Finneas, was dressed in an all-red suit and a sequined mask.

Tennis star Serena Williams looked great in a feathered overcoat with a grey Gucci bodysuit.

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, dressed in Brother Vellies, along with looking beautiful, also decided to use the occasion to send a message. In bold, bright letters, “Tax the rich” was seen on her dress.

Singer Frank Ocean, his hair died green, dressed simply in black – except he carried the most interesting and bizarre accessory, a robot baby doll.

Rihanna, too, opted for an all-black look, an overcoat, and a headpiece, designed by Balenciaga. Her boyfriend A$AP Rocky, was dressed in a quilt-inspired look by ERL.
