Islamabad, August 05 (Online Int’l): Prime Minister Imran Khan has stated that the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi committed a blunder on 5th of August last year and added that he (Modi) won the election overwhelmingly on the basis of hatred against Pakistan and Hindutva card.
He said that the revocation of the special status of Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir was as part of Modi’s election agenda, which he implemented after winning the election. The Prime Minister said that Narendra Modi was hesitant to revoke the special status of IIOK in his last tenure. He stated this while addressing a special session of the AJK Assembly in Muzaffarabad on Wednesday. “Due to the effective measures taken by the incumbent government to Kashmir has become the focal point of the world attention”, he stated.
The Prime Minister stated that PM Modi made a huge miscalculation on August 5 of last year by abrogating article 370. PM said that oppression of Kashmiris increased after BJP came into power as Modi won the election by inciting hatred against Pakistan. Imran Khan also said that Modi thought that Pakistan will remain silent as he strips Kashmir of its autonomy, but Pakistan internationalised the Kashmir issue as he himself briefed President Donald Trump several times about its sensitivity.
He, while citing examples of Quaid-e-Azam and Nelson Mandela, said that true leaders do not divide nations. On the contrary, PM Modi, who was not even allowed to travel to Europe and US due to the Gujrat massacre, divided India on religious basis.
He also claimed that any pro-India leader cannot be elected in Kashmir now and already pro-India leaders like Omer Abdullah are also changing their stance and accepting the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He also assured all Kashmiris and the assembly of AJK that he has highlighted Kashmir issue at all international levels and will continue to do so.
While explaining his philosophy about the political map of Pakistan, PM Imran Khan said that it was a mandatory move to show the world that India has illegally occupied Kashmir and it is a disputed territory.
He also announced that Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Gillani will be honored with Nishan-e-Pakistan on August 14 for his historic courage and bravery. Earlier, Prime Minister of AJK Raja Farooq Haider tabled a resolution, condemning Indian actions of August 5, which was passed by the assembly. The resolution rejected illegal Indian actions in the valley and condemned arrest of Hurriyat leaders and representatives of international media. PM AJK also paid tribute to martyrs of armed forces. He, while demanding an end to curfews and lockdowns in the IIJOK, said that the intentions of Indian Prime Minister Modi has been exposed. He added that the visit of the Line of Control (LoC) by political leadership has increased the morale of the Kashmiris.
Prime Minister Pakistan Imran Khan has also inaugurated “Jammu and Kashmir Monument” in Muzaffarabad in memory of the oppressed Kashmiris. PM Imran also participated in a solidarity walk along with AJK President and Prime Minister and others to commemorate one year of military siege of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
