Motorway Abuse Case, LHC issues important order
According to the reports of Baaghi TV, an appeal against the decision to ban coverage of PEMRA’s motorway abuse case was heard in the Lahore High Court. The Lahore High Court has reportedly suspended notification of ban on reporting of the motorway abuse case. Two-member bench headed by Chief Justice Qasim Khan ordered the suspension of PEMRA’s notification. Under the Right to Information, the public cannot be prevented from awareness. The media will not run pictures of the family of either the accused or the victims. The Court further asked to present the record of the press conference of the ministers and advisers to the media regarding the arrest of the accused Abid Ali Malhi.
