Muharram begins, Lahore Police Operations Wing security plan released

According to a Baaghi TV report, Lahore Police Operations Wing issues security plan for the month of Muharram.

DG Operations Lahore Ashfaq Khan said that more than 15,000 police officers will perform their duties in Muharram. 12 SPs, 34 DSPs, 83 inspectors will be deployed. A total of 5235 gatherings will be held and 650 mourning processions will be held. In terms of sensitivity, 610 Majalis have been divided into Category A, 3471 into B Category. 1154 Majalis will be in Category C.

143 mourning processions have been divided into category A, 449 into B category and 58 into C category. Checking of citizens and vehicles will be carried out at 54 designated points of the city. All gatherings and mourning processions will provided with full security.

Training of more than 10,000 volunteers completed, Participants will be checked. Literature based on religious hatred, controversial speeches, wall chalking and advertising are strictly prohibited. Participants will be allowed to enter the Majalis and Imambargahs only after a thorough search. Citizens, mourners and the police force should ensure health protection by implementing Muharram Corona SOPs.
