Multan Sultans beat Quetta Gladiators by 30 runs

Multan: Multan Sultans managed to retain the winning streak by winning all three matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Multan Cricket Stadium.

The Multan Sultans scored 199 runs for the loss of five wickets in their 20 overs, all because of the brilliant century by Rilee Russouw in the 12th match of the event. In reply, the Quetta Gladiators team scored 169 for seven wickets in the second innings.

According to details, Multan Sultan’s captain Shan Masood won the toss and decided to bat first. Captain Shan Masood and Rilee Russouw took the crease, with openers James Vince scoring 29, Zeeshan Ashraf 8 and Moin Ali bowled out on 6.

Quetta’s Mohammed Nawaz, Mohammad Hasanin, Ben Cutting, Naseem Shah and Sohail Khan took onw wicket each.

Quetta Gladiators tried really hard, but failed to beat the Multan Sultans at home ground. The opening pair of Shane Watson and Jason Roy gave Quetta Gladiators a 57-run start. Jason Roy got out for 30, but Shane Watson did not give up and kept running with his bat. He scored 80 off 41 balls with 7 sixes and 7 fours.

Multan, not only with the bat, but with the excellent bowling of Bilawal Bhatti and Imran Tahir, the middle order of the Quetta Gladiators failed completely and returned to the pavilion one after the other. The last six wickets of Quetta Gladiators could only add 71 runs on the scoreboard.

The guest team scored 169 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the 20 overs. Multan Sultans’ Bilawal Bhatti took three wickets and Imran Tahir took 2 wickets.

Rilee Russouw was awarded Man of the Match for scoring a brilliant century in the match. Only one match will be played at PSL Edition 5 on Sunday, 1st March, where Islamabad United and Karachi Kings will compete in Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
