Karachi, 7th July: A few days back Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has reportedly suspended the license of Channel 24 for violating the rules.

According to a report by Baaghi TV, a statement issued by PEMRA said that under the license issued by Central Media Network, it was authorized to run entertainment-related content on Value TV channel while the company was illegally violating all PEMRA rules.

The authority had issued a show-cause notice on May 7, 2020, under which the company was ordered to immediately close down news and current affairs content and broadcast approved entertainment content.

As per the Baaghi TV report, a letter of request for the restoration of the license of 24 News Channel has been put forward to the PM Pakistan by a Cheif Minister.

It is reported that CM Sindh, Murad Ali Shah has written a request to the Prime Minister Imran Khan and has protested against the ban of 24 News Channel by PEMRA.

It is interesting to note that among all the chief ministers no one has shown sympathy towards the media industry specifically the issue of 24 News Channel. Neither any reporters nor journalists have come up to support any of their brothers from this channel?

Then why only CM Sindh is supporting this cause? What is the truth behind this cause, is yet to be revealed?

Stay tuned to Baaghi TV for further updates!
