Lahore, 21st April: The National Assembly Secretariat served a notice to the former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi over his misconduct in the National Assembly session.

According to reports, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has been served notice on Wednesday after the report of an unpleasant incident conducted by him in the NA session yesterday.

At the instructions of National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser, a letter has been issued to PML-N MNA under Rule 21 of the NA’s code of conduct.

The notification read, “Your conduct caused hurdle in the smooth holding of the house proceedings and interrupted the session. By impeding the house proceedings you also ridiculed the office of the Speaker.”

In the letter, it is also mentioned that Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has to extend his apology within 7 days and if he fails to do so, it will be considered as if he has nothing to say in his defence.

It is to be noted that a National Assembly session to present a resolution on French ambassador was presented before the House on Tuesday, where an exchange of heated words took place between Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Speaker Asad Qaiser.

As per reports, the former prime minister lashed out at the ruling government for not taking the Opposition into confidence regarding the resolution.

He also asked to adjourn the session so the Opposition could review the situation and present its recomndations.

While addressing the issue at the House Abbasi lashed out at Asad Qaiser and reached his rostrum saying, “Aren’t you ashamed, you are making the issues controversial?”

When the speaker asked him to hold his tongue, Abbasi reacted severely and threatened him to throw his shoe at the speaker.

The heated exchange went on for some time until the speaker asked the MNA to go back to his seat
