NAB report reveal names of accused included in ECL

ISLAMABAD: The annual report of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has revealed that in 2019, the names of 261 accused were included in the Exit Control List (ECL).

According to the report, the names of 261 people included Asif Ali Zardari, Maryam Nawaz, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Ahsan Iqbal and others.

According to details, the accountability watchdog released its annual report on investigations against key figures, which included the names of 1,037 individuals involved in corruption.

The report revealed that in the year 2019, the names of 261 accused were included in the ECL. However, on the recommendation of NAB Rawalpindi, more than 72 accused were named in the ECL. It further said that NAB Lahore had 67 names, Karachi 33, Multan 46, Sukkur 33 and KPK 6 names in the ECL.

The NAB’s annual report said that Asif Zardari, Maryam Nawaz, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Ahsan Iqbal, Akram Durrani, Faryal Talpur, Sharjeel Memon, Hamza Shahbaz, Miftah Ismail, Agha Siraj, Anwar Majeed, Abdul Ghani Majeed and others were included in the ECL.

According to the report, names of 42 people, including former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, were removed from the ECL in 2019.
