NAB to start investigation against Ahsan Iqbal

Lahore, Oct 15: National Accountability Bureau has started investigation against PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal.

PML N leader Ahsan Iqbal is being investigated for owning more assets than known sources of income.

Former Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal is already being investigated in the Narowal Sports City corruption case. He has been alleged of constructing the Sports City in his constituency, NA-78, he violated the rules which caused losses worth billions to the tax payers money.

The sports city Narowal case, which spreads over 44 acres of land, is being constructed only 800 metres from the International border with India. This has raised some serious security concerns too.

Previous government made special allocation for it through the Public Sector Development Programme. PSDP is used by the federal government to provide financial resources for development projects. Sports Board of Pakistan then spent all these funds, even though after the 18th Amendment the sports ministry was a provincial government ministry and it became a provincial matter.

The total cost of the project was Rs2.9 billion. More than Rs2.5 billion have been spent on it already.
