May 20, 2021: Nawaz Sharif’s property auction as per court orders, is officially underway.
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s property auction has started in Sheikhupura following a court order. The auction of 88 canal lands in Ferozewan town is underway. No buyers have arrived yet to participate in the auction, officials are waiting for some customers to arrive and buy Nawaz Sharif’s property. Spokesperson District Administration Sheikhupura Faisal Javed said that the auction of 88 Kanal 4 Marla land will be held in one go. The auction advertisement has been published by the district administration.
According to the schedule rate, the price has been fixed at Rs. 7 million per acre and the proceeds from the auction will be deposited in the state exchequer.
It is to be noted that Accountability Court Judge Syed Asghar Ali had issued orders for confiscation of property. NAB submitted a report on Nawaz Sharif’s assets in the accountability court on the court order. Nawaz Sharif’s assets include details of properties, vehicles and bank accounts. Nawaz Sharif owns more than 1650 kanals of agricultural land in Lahore, Mercedes, Land Cruiser and 2 tractors. Details of domestic and foreign accounts in the name of Nawaz Sharif in Lahore’s private bank have also been made a part of the order.
