NCOC decides to end lockdown in Sindh from August 9

The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has announced to end lockdown in Sindh from August 9, 2021, however, new coronavirus restrictions will be implemented in Karachi and Hyderabad.

According to details, a statement of the joint meeting of the NCOC was issued which was held in Karachi. NCOC chief Asad Umar, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and National Coordinator NCOC Lt. Gen. Hamood uz Zaman attended the meeting.

The NCOC said that it has been decided to end the lockdown in Sindh on August 9, however, new coronavirus restrictions will be imposed in Karachi and Hyderabad. The NCOC has called for improvement in the implementation of COVID-19 SOPs in Sindh and directed that implementation of SOPs should be improved in view of end of lockdown and commencement of Muharram.

The meeting decided to continue the smart lockdown policy to curb the spread of coronavirus and said that smart lockdown would be imposed in the areas with higher number of cases.

Earlier, Sindh government spokesman Barrister Murtaza Wahab, while hinting at easing the lockdown, had said that a notification would be issued by August 9 regarding which facilities would also be provided.
