Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid warns of rise in terrorist attacks

Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid raised questions about the alleged threat alert to the New Zealand cricket team stating that they had been given significant security.

During a press conference in Lahore, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said that where were the five countries that issued the threat alert when security experts were visiting Pakistan and the New Zealand team had been practicing in Rawalpindi for four days. There was no problem then, he said.

Sheikh Rashid expressed frustration over the New Zealand team’s announcement to postpone the series on the grounds of security, saying that New Zealand did not even have as many forces as it had been given.

The Federal Home Minister said that no cricket is being played in India due to the destruction caused by corona.

Responding to the opposition’s criticism on the return of the New Zealand team, he said not to sit in a glass house and throw stones.

He said that there is nothing to worry about, it happens in such cases, the nation is sorry but one day all the teams will come to play.

It may be recalled that a few days ago, the New Zealand cricket team had announced the abrupt end of its tour of Pakistan citing security concerns, after which the series between the two teams was postponed.

Later, New Zealand Cricket Board Chief Executive Officer David White said in a statement that he was “completely satisfied” and that was why the team was sent to Pakistan, but everything changed on Friday, the advisory changed and the situation changed, the threat level changed, so decided to cancel the tour.
