Sept 23, 2021: In the Noor Muqadam murder case, the decision has been reserved on bail plea of Zahir Jaffar’s parents.
According to a report by Baaghi TV, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) heard the bail plea of the parents of accused Zahir Jaffer in the Noor Muqaddam murder case.
During the hearing, lawyer Shah Khawar said that under the Presidential Ordinance, the trial of Noor Muqadam case should be held in a special court, to which Justice Amir Farooq remarked that the term of the ordinance has now expired.
The judge remarked to the plaintiff counsel that it seems that you want to delay the trial. Shah Khawar Advocate said that “it is definitely not my intention to delay the case. We did not include unnecessary witnesses in the case. I was in contact with the parents of the accused. They are related to the crime. It was a very senseless murder.”
Justice Amir Farooq inquired about the relationship between the therapy works workers and the petitioners. The public prosecutor said that Zahir Jaffer’s mother had been working as a consultant for the therapy works. Lawyer Khawaja Harris said that the incomplete interim challan has just been presented in the court, at this stage nothing has been said and no evidence has been proved anywhere, the right to bail cannot be denied on that evidence.
Meanwhile, yesterday, during the hearing against Zahir Jaffer for the murder of Noor Muqaddam, the court today remarked that the Advocate General should come in person and give arguments himself.
The public prosecutor told the court that the bail application should be heard by a division bench instead of a single bench. Justice Amir Farooq remarked that if the challan was filed with the Additional Sessions Judge, how would the matter go to the division bench.
Strict security arrangements were made during the hearing of Noor Muqadam murder case. The bail application of the parents of the accused in Noor Muqadam murder case has been rejected by the lower court which has been filed as an appeal in the Islamabad High Court.
On the other hand, the Islamabad High Court, while hearing the application of cancellation of bail of the employees of the therapy works in the Noor Muqadam murder case, gave respite to the lawyers to prepare the case. Additional Sessions Judge granted bail to six accused on bail bonds of Rs. 5.5 million who are accused of aiding and abetting Zahir Jaffer and have approached the Islamabad High Court for relief.
Meanwhile, Noor Muqaddam’s father thanked the media and society who raised their voice for Noor and appealed to the courts to expedite justice and punish her killer, Zahir Jaffer.

Shaukat Muqaddam, ex ambassador of Pakistan to South Korea, appealed the court to not delay the proceedings and to hand out justice to Noor’s killer efficiently. He said the court should deal quickly and bring the culprit to justice and give justice to his daughter.
Noor Muqaddam’s father appealed to the people and the media to keep up the pressure so that Noor gets immediate justice. Noor’s father demanded the highest punishment for her killer Zahir Jaffer and his accomplices and abettors.
He said that the mothers, sisters and daughters who are participating in this protest for justice of Noor want the culprit to be sentenced to death not only the killer but also all the elements involved in it. Get immediate punishment
“This case is being followed not only at the national level but also at the international level and wherever I have been an ambassador, voices are being raised about this case,” he said.
