Oil company CEOs refuse to join probe into hoarding case
KARACHI: The CEO’s of oil companies have reportedly refused to join the investigation into the hoarding case. According to reports, the nominated CEO’s of the petroleum companies have refused to join the investigation in connection with the probe into the petrol crisis in Karachi.
A case of shortage of petrol, hoarding and black marketing was heard in the local court of Karachi in which the police of Jackson police station submitted a progress report to the court.
Police said that a case was registered on the orders of DG Oil on the complaint of a member of the Fuel Price Committee Petroleum Division, which included the CEO of a private petroleum company and the CEO of Gas and Oil Pakistan.
Police said that the nominated CEO’s of the petroleum companies have refused to join the investigation and both the accused have obtained pre-arrest bail from the court.
The court asked why the investigation into petrol storage could not be completed. To this the investigating officer replied that the named accused of the companies did not join the investigation after the interim bail.
The investigating officer later requested the court to give him more time to complete the investigation, on which the court gave him four days to complete the investigation.
The court directed the concerned authorities to complete the investigation into the petrol crisis and submit a challan.
