Lahore, 27th May: One accused has been arrested in the alleged gang rape of a newly-wed bride in the Punjab district.
According to details, a case of robbery and alleged gang rape of a bride in the Mochipura area of Shujaabad city of Punjab province has been registered against 4 unidentified accused in the City police station.
According to reports from police, five robbers dressed in police uniforms barged into a house in the Mochipura area Wednesday night and gang-raped a woman who got married the previous day.
Police said that the case was registered after the complaint of Dil Mohammad Latif, in which it was stated that the robbers looted jewelry, mobile, and cash of Rs 375,000.
The action was taken after the medical examination of the woman confirmed that she was sexually assaulted by five men.
Police officials informed that the robbers also tortured the husband after he resisted their attacks.
After the initial investigation, police said that the woman was not gang-raped due to any personal enmity or any other motive. The suspects assaulted her during the robbery.
