Speaking to the BBC, Sitamarhi Police SP Anil Kumar confirmed the incident and said that the Sonbarsa area of ​​Sitamarhi was attacked by India in Janki Nagar and the Narainpur area of ​​Nepal on Friday from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. Meanwhile, a firing incident has taken place.

“One person was killed and two others were injured in a shootout between the local population of India and the Nepal Police,” he said. The injured are being treated and both are out of danger. However, he did not elaborate on the cause of the clash.

According to reports from Nepal, the administration says that the Nepali security forces opened fire when some Indian nationals tried to enter Nepal illegally. Shankar Hari Acharya, a senior official of Saptari district, said that these were smugglers who came first in small numbers and then in large numbers.

However, Nageshwar Rai, father of the deceased Vikesh Rai, told local media that five or six people had gone to work on a field near the border in the morning. Nepali police forbade him to work.
