KARACHI, Mar 25 (APP): Sindh Minister for Minority Affairs Hari Ram Kishori Lal has said that the ministry’s development projects will be completed this year come what may.
This was said in a review meeting of Sindh Minority Affairs Department. The Provincial Minister was informed that six development projects have been completed at over Rs 99 million in 2021-2020 while during fiscal year 2020-2019, four development projects were completed at a cost of over Rs 37 Million. Under the ongoing grant-in-aid for the Department of Minority Affairs, five development projects were completed at over Rs 22 million during fiscal year 2019-2018 and nine were completed at over Rs 41 million during fiscal year 2020-2019.
The Minister highlighted the need for the department’s engineering wing to become more active and ensure timely completion. The executive engineer of the department was told to strictly follow international standards.
He pointed out the role played by minorities for Sindh and reiterated the need for more effective spending of funds allocated to their economic development. He called it a major priority of the current government to safeguard minorities and their interests.
