Lahore, 14th June: Indian media claims that Pakistan and China are working together on a plan to build a media house to challenge the Western ‘info dominance.’

Baaghi TV: The Indian news agency Hindustan Times has claimed in its report that Pakistan and China have joined hands to form a media channel or media organization to achieve ‘information dominance.’

The report said the two countries were exploring the possibility of forming an organization with international journalists along the lines of Qatar’s Al Jazeera or Russia’s RT network, which would be supported by Chinese funding.

The report claims that the thought behind the move is that China’s internal forces are an obstacle to free media, but the country has vast financial resources, while Pakistan’s internal scenario is conducive to free media organization but the state lacks financial resources.

Sources told HindustanTimes, citing internal documents accessed by Indian security agencies, that both countries believed that Al Jazeera and RT’s old media are needed to ‘make comprehensible statements.’

If such an organization could be set up in Pakistan and China, it could provide financial support to achieve the goals of both countries.

China needs to create a trustworthy and respectable image and expand its circle of friends globally.

It may be noted that this not the first time that Pakistan attempted to set up a news network for ‘image management.’

In 2019, Pakistan tried to launch an English news channel in collaboration with Malaysia and Turkey to promote the correct image of Islam worldwide, but the project failed after both the countries failed to show interest.
