Pak, India forces exchange sweets across LoC to mark beginning of the New Year

Jan 2, 2022: At the beginning of the new year, Pakistan and India exchanged sweets along the LoC at various places and wished each other a Happy New Year.
According to security sources, sweets were exchanged between Pakistan and Indian Army at four different locations along the Line of Control (LoC), including Parachkothi and Poonch sectors. On this occasion, the security officials of both the countries congratulated each other.
The situation on the LoC is looking better since a ceasefire agreement was reached between Pakistan and India last February.
On the other hand, there are no reports of sweets being exchanged between the border forces of the two countries stationed at Wagah in Lahore and Gandasingh border in Kasur. The border forces of the two countries traditionally give sweets to each other on their national and religious festivals.
