Pakistan has ranked third on a list of countries ordered by how much they’ve returned to normal during the coronavirus pandemic. Ever since the pandemic started in early 2020, people have wondered when the world will return to “normal”.
According to the international newspaper The Economist, Pakistan is among the top three countries that are rapidly progressing towards the pre-pandemic life.
However, the other two countries on top of the list are Hong Kong and New Zealand with index scores of 96.3 and 87.8 respectively. Pakistan with a score of 84.4, ranks third in the “Global Normalcy Index” of countries returning to normalcy in the post-COVID pandemic worldview.
However, China is in 19th position, the United States (US) is in 20th and India ranks 48 in the index.

“The world is slowly coming back to pre-pandemic levels,” The Economist said in a press release.
It is to be noted that the global normalcy index covers fifty countries of the world that together make 76% of the total population and 90% of the global Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Pakistan’s placement in the top three remarks the tremendous success of the government to curb the spread of COVID-19 by applying smart moves and measures.
