Lahore, 21st July: Pakistan has received more doses of the American Pfizer vaccine against the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

According to reports from the health ministry, new Pfizer vaccine doses have reached the capital city Islamabad on Wednesday,

Sources have informed that 14,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine arrived at the Islamabad International Airport via a foreign airline flight early today.

As per reports, vaccine doses were stored in ultra-cold chain refrigerators and were handed over to the officials of the Extended Programme on Immunisation (EPI). Soon after the airport officials shifted the doses to the main warehouse in Islamabad.

Sources have revealed that Pakistan has signed an agreement with Pfizer Inc to provide them with 13 million doses of the vaccine. The country will soon receive more doses this month.

Pakistan to Receive 13 million Vaccine Doses from Pfizer

According to reports, Pakistan received 100,600 doses of the Pfizer vaccine under the COVAX program last month.

It is pertinent to mention here that the American vaccine will be administered to people with weak immunity and those suffering from chronic diseases.

Furthermore, people who wish to travel abroad for work, study, and tourism will also get the Pfizer shot.
