
LAHORE: The National Institute of Health (NIH) has confirmed the Omicron case in Karachi, Pakistan. The National Institute of Health says Omicron was confirmed after genome sequencing was completed.
This is the first confirmed case of the Omicron variant in Pakistan. Omicron trends are being monitored to identify suspicious specimens. Agha Khan Hospital in Karachi has also confirmed the first case of Omicron, saying that the first patient of the Omicron variant is at home and the condition is better than before. However, Omicron has not yet been confirmed in any other person across Pakistan.
