Lahore, 14th June: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that Pakistan will not take responsibility if it was blamed for the deteriorating Afghan Peace process.
FM Qureshi said on Monday that Pakistan would not be responsible if it was blamed for any deterioration in the Afghan peace process.
While addressing the inaugural session of the Pak-Afghan Bilateral Dialogue in Islamabad, the foreign minister disclosed that Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and a core group will reportedly travel to Washington soon.
“I wish them to have a good visit but let me inform in advance if the purpose of going to Washington is to start a new blame game and to hold Pakistan responsible for all the ills in Afghanistan and no progress in the peace process, then it will not help,” he added.
FM Qureshi said that indeed it is a shared responsibility and nobody is going to buy it anymore that if things go wrong then Pakistan is to blame.
He reiterated that we will not take responsibility and added that Pakistan was honest and sincere in building a peace process in Afghanistan.
