Pakistani sound engineer Taurees Habib has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first Pakistani to win a Grammy Award in the category of sound engineering.

The Karachi-born engineer was honoured earlier this year for his technical work on the soundtrack of the Hollywood film Dune: Part Two, composed by renowned musician Hans Zimmer.

In a social media post, he expressed gratitude for the honour and pride in representing Pakistan on a global platform.

Taurees Habib is now the second Pakistani ever to win a Grammy, following vocalist Arooj Aftab, who received the accolade in 2022.

Taurees Habib’s achievement has been widely appreciated and is being seen as a proud moment for the country, highlighting the growing recognition of Pakistani talent in international creative and technical fields.
