PBCC makes announcement regarding matric, inter exams

LAHORE: The Punjab Board Committee of Chairmen (PBCC) has announced not to take practicals in matriculation and intermediate examinations next year.

According to details, the PBCC has made a final decision not to take the practical examinations, under which there will be no practicals in the matriculation and intermediate examinations next year.

The notification will be applicable to education boards across Punjab. In theory, practical marks will be given on the basis of marks. Officials say the decision not to take the practice was made in light of the COVID-19 policy.

The decision was taken in Lahore during a meeting of the PBCC. According to the details, chairmen of all the nine boards in the province participated and review the proposal after the closure of educational institutions due to the second wave of coronavirus in the country.

It may be recalled that the government had announced the closure of all educational institutions in Pakistan from November 26 to December 24, saying that there would be winter holidays for children from December 25 to January 10 and educational institutions will reopen from January 11 if conditions improve.

Announcing the postponement of all examinations in December till January 15, the Federal Minister said that the entrance tests of educational institutions would be as usual while the board would try to conduct examinations in May and June.
