PCB announces categories of players included in the domestic contract

Baaghi TV: Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the categories of 192 players for the domestic contract for 21-2020. The players for these contract categories have been selected in a transparent manner, which gave importance to performance and future thinking.
Out of these 192 players, 10 cricketers have been awarded A-plus category which includes either the players who have performed well in domestic cricket or the players who are part of the national squad but have PCB. There is no central or emerging contract.
These players include Imran Butt (Balochistan), Noman Ali (Northern), Zafar Gohar (Central Punjab), Bilal Asif (Central Punjab), Fawad Alam (Sindh), Fahim Ashraf (Central Punjab), Imran Khan Senior (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Kashif Bhatti (Balochistan), Sohail Khan (Sindh) and Khushdal Shah (Southern Punjab).

Misbah-ul-Haq, who has selected the players for the A-plus category, says that he congratulates these ten players for being a part of the A-plus category. Thanks to him, some of them made a place in domestic cricket and some in Pakistan cricket team.
The head coach and chief selector of the national cricket team said that he admits that it will be a difficult time for some players but it should be understood that we can select only 10 players for this category. I assure the player that his availability for the national squad will continue and the increase in his contract category next year depends on his performance in the domestic season 21-2020.
Misbah-ul-Haq further said that this contract in different categories is the result of our strategy under which we want to make Pakistan cricket tough, competitive and performance oriented, it is believed that it will increase the enthusiasm and passion of the players. Which will benefit Pakistan cricket.
A total of 38 players have been included in Category A of the announced contracts, including the ten best cricketers who performed well in the last domestic season, representing Pakistan in Test and ODI cricket. There are 47 players, including the ten best cricketers of the last edition of the National T20 Cup (First XI) and the players who have represented Pakistan in T20 cricket. In this category, including Pakistan Shaheen and Emerging Team players. Players who performed well in first-class cricket last year have also been included.
Category C consists of a total of 71 players, including cricketers who are part of HBL Pakistan Super League Edition 2019 or 2020, players who have performed impressively in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (First and Second XI), Pakistan Cup 19-2018. The top 10 performers, the best batsmen / bowlers of the Patterns Trophy Grade II 2018-19 and the players representing Pakistan in Edge Group Cricket.
The remaining 26 players in six cricket associations have been placed in Category D.

Director High Performance Nadeem Khan says that he always believes in quality and performance and the contracts announced for the domestic season 21-2020 are an example of this.
Nadeem Khan said that instead of a fixed stipend for all players, this time we have introduced a structure in different categories which differentiates between the salaries of performing, experienced and newcomers and it is from the central contract. This is also in line with our policy.
“With this new contract structure, we are securing the future of our players who play different age group cricket, which we have neglected in the past,” he added.
