Peshawar’s Kapoor Haveli to be restored soon

Lahore, 6th August 2020: Pakistan is set to restore the ancient Kapoor Haveli in Peshawar.
According to reports of Baaghi TV, centuries-old Kapoor Haveli in Peshawar, Pakistan, is soon to be restored by the government.
The mansion was built by Dewan Basheswarnath Kapoor, father of Prithviraj Kapoor. The latter was the first member of the family to enter the film and entertainment industry in 1928.

His eldest son Randhir Kapoor hopes that the mansion is restored to its previous glory to honor the memories of the Kapoor family. He said:
“The Kapoors do not own the Kapoor Haveli. It could have been Prithviraj Kapoor’s Haveli [grandfather], but not ours, we will be happy if they decide to keep it in the memory of the Kapoors, Raj Kapoor will always live on.”

Previously, it was planned to convert the haveli into a museum as a request from the late Rishi Kapoor who died from leukemia this year.

The popular Kapoor Haveli is in deplorable conditions and needs urgent maintenance. However, restoring and preserving the building is a necessary step. Many locals have claimed that the building is deteriorating and may collapse at any time.
