PIA becomes the first national carrier to have a 100% vaccinated crew

Lahore, 29th April: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) becomes the first airline to get its crew vaccinated against the coronavirus.

According to reports, the PIA crew received their first dose of coronavirus vaccine and hence, PIA became the first national carrier to have a 100 percent vaccinated staff.

Pilots and the crew received their first dose of vaccine on Thursday and as per reports will get their second dose in mid-May.

In the first phase of the vaccination process, more than 400 pilots and 700 crew members received their first jab. The second phase of the vaccination for frontline PIA employees will start on Friday, April 30.

PIA CEO Arshad Malik said that they want their passengers to travel safely during the tough times of the coronavirus pandemic.

It is to be noted that the national carrier is also responsible for bringing vaccine doses from China.

PIA posted on its official Twitter page on Thursday that one of its three special planes carrying 300,000 coronavirus vaccine doses from China landed in Islamabad.

As per reports, the Pakistan government had sent three Boeing 777 PIA planes to China yesterday to get the coronavirus vaccine doses.

Further reports inform that the second PIA plane with more vaccine doses will reach Pakistan today afternoon, while, the third flight will land at 12:00 midnight.
