PIA to start flight operations to United Kingdom

A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Airbus A320 registration AP-BLV departed from Islamabad at 1:08 PM as flight PK-6249 to the Afghan capital under a special operation carried out by the airline to bring back stranded Pakistanis and foreigners in Afghanistan after a Taliban takeover.

According to the details, the national airline will operate two special flights today to Kabul in order to rescue stranded Pakistanis and other foreigners. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PIA, Air Marshal Arshad Malik is also aboard the aircraft to encourage the crew members.

Moreover, Air Marshal Arshad Malik is expected to hold important meetings with the Afghan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and NATO officials at the Kabul airport. The CEO will also review administrative matters and operations with Pakistani Ambassador Mansoor Ahmed Khan after the new government is formed.

Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan will allow more flights after the successful completion the the two special flights today. As per the instructions of the Minister of Aviation, PIA is exploring possibility of operating evacuation flights from more cities of Afghanistan.
