PIA takes an important step in view of coronavirus pandemic

KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to partially suspend biometric attendance in view of the second wave of coronavirus.
According to details, the PIA management has issued new orders regarding precautionary measures due to the spread of coronavirus under which it was decided to partially suspend biometric attendance. Biometric attendance will not be posted in any of the PIA offices but the employees will manually enter their attendance in the register in their respective offices.
Under the new orders, attendance of all staff will be emailed to the Human Resource (HR) department and it must be submitted before the 10th of each month.

It may be recalled that on November 22, PIA had introduced a flexible system of attendance in offices. Under the new system, if any employee marks his/her attendance at 8am in the morning, he/she can leave at 4:30pm, the notification said, adding if one marks his/her attendance at 8:30am, he/she can sign out at 5pm. The minimum working hours that the airline’s staffers are required to observe are eight hours and 30 minutes.
