Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Sunday, felicitated the Independent Group led by Ahsan Bhoon on securing majority seats in Islamabad Bar Council and Punjab Bar Council polls.
The prime minister expressed his good wishes for all the winning candidates of Independent Group and others, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.
The prime minister observed that the lawyers’ community played an important role in strengthening of democracy, ensuring dispensation of justice and protection of the citizens’ rights.
He expressed the hope that the newly elected representatives of legal fraternity would continue performing their functions with honesty, professional capacity and with a strong sense of responsibility for serving the society.
“I strongly hope that you will continue playing your vital role for the judiciary and rule of law,” he added.
He further observed that the lawyers’ community had adopted a principled stance without leaning to political affiliations and voting on such principles, paved way for triumph.
The prime minister said that Minister for Law Azam Nazeer Tarar was active for the resolution of legal community’s issues and had been in constant contact with him.
