Dec 6, 2021: Prime Minister Imran Khan will today (Monday) launch Pakistan’s largest sports program called’Kamyab Jawan Sports Drive’.
For the first time in the history of the country, the Kamyab Jawan Program and the Higher Education Commission will collaborate on four new programs worth Rs. 4 billion to engage the youth in extracurricular and sports activities. Successful young sports drive will be one of these mega projects.
In the first phase, the project aims to prepare the talented youth of Pakistan to showcase their talents internationally in 12 sports including hockey, cricket, football, handball, wrestling, weightlifting, squash, volleyball and skiing. In addition to Judo, boxing and athletics.
Today at the Islamabad stadium, young people falling in the age group of 11 to 25 years will participate in the sports competitions.
After the launch today, the sports competitions will be held across the country, including Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir and one million youth will are expected to participate in the process of selection which will be based solely on talent. The aim of the program is to bring sporting talent from the streets of Pakistan to the national and international arena of sporting competititons and to provide a platform for every youth across the board to showcase their abilities.
