Jan 12, 2022: According to a statement issued by the PMO, Prime Minister Imran Khan appreciated the efforts of Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) for national security, stability and prosperity.

“A comprehensive briefing was given to the national and military leadership on the national security and regional dynamics, with focus on the ongoing situation in Afghanistan,” a statement issued by the PM office read.

The Prime Minister made these remarks during a visit to the ISI Secretariat in Islamabad along with key federal ministers on Wednesday. Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa was also present on the occasion.

Director General ISI Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum received the dignitaries. A comprehensive briefing followed by a discussion on national security and regional dynamics focused on the current situation in Afghanistan.

Prime Minister Imran Khan appreciated the efforts of the country’s top intelligence agency for national security, stability and prosperity and expressed satisfaction over the ISI’s professionalism in protecting Pakistan’s national interests. In September last year, Prime Minister Imran, senior cabinet members and the three chiefs of the armed forces visited ISI headquarters to be briefed on the evolving regional security situation, particularly in Afghanistan.

The statement further said that the Prime Minister appreciated the diligent efforts of ISI for national security and expressed satisfaction over the professional preparations.
