Police in Lahore, the provincial capital of Punjab, have postponed the arrest of Tehreek-e-Labaik (TLP) chief Hafiz Saad Rizvi, according to reports of Baaghi TV.

A large contingent of police had gathered in Iqbal Town to arrest Hafiz Saad Rizvi, the leader of TLP, and had also cordoned off his house in Yateem Khana Chowk. However, all the police personnel later withdrew.

According to TLP, they have demanded the return of the approval of the blasphemy bill and ban on French goods, while Hafiz Saad Rizvi has given a deadline of February 16 to approve the demands, due to which the police wanted to arrest him.

Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi, the leader of TLP, had called a sit-in in Faizabad after the publication of blasphemous sketches in France. It was agreed with the government that the French ambassador would be expelled from the country.

However, Allama Khadim Rizvi passed away and his son replaced him as the leader of TLP. The government has not yet expelled the French ambassador, nor has it severed ties with France. Now the current head of TLP has given the government a deadline of February 16.
