A drizzle is likely to occur in various cities of Sindh, including Karachi, according to the Meteorological Department of Pakistan.
The Meteorological Department has forecast a drizzle or light rain in Karachi, Thatta, Badin and Tharparkar today.
According to reports, thundershowers are expected in Kashmir as well as Islamabad, Upper and Central Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan today. Recently, the Karakoram Highway was also closed down due to heavy rains and landslides.
It is to be noted that just a short while back, the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad, faced heavy rains which resulted in a considerable amount of damage, including 2 deaths. Reports state that the rains were a result of cloudburst.
The city was flooded and vehicles were seen to be floating away. According to the deputy commissioner, spillways of the Rawal Dam were opened. The casualties were a mother and her child.
Similarly, Lahore has also been witnessing heavy rains, with certain areas being submerged, some of them being Johar Town, Model Town, the airport, Mall Road, and Davis Road. Other cities have also been witnessing rain, including Faisalabad, where the rainwater entered houses as well.
