Princess Beatrice gets married in a private Windsor ceremony

London, 17th July 2020: Princess Beatrice has married an Italian property tycoon Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi at a private ceremony in Windsor.

Princess Beatrice, now the Countess Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi is the elder daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Sarah, Duchess of York. She is ninth in the line of succession to the British throne, followed by her sister, Princess Eugenie.

According to the reports from BBC News, the wedding took place on Friday morning at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge. It was attended by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, along with other close relatives.

Initially, Beatrice was to get married in May, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the ceremony got delayed. The new date was not announced in advance.

Buckingham Palace said that the ceremony was small today and was in accordance with the relevant guidelines issued by the government.

The new venue of Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park – a short drive from Windsor Castle – is Beatrice’s childhood home. Her parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York, still live at the property and also attended the ceremony.

Mr. Mapelli Mozzi, known as Edo, and Beatrice began dating in autumn 2018. They got engaged during a weekend trip to Italy last September.

The couple is said to have started a relationship after meeting again at Beatrice’s sister Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank.

Mr. Mapelli Mozzi is the son of former Olympic skier Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi and Nikki Williams-Ellis and is a count himself. Count Mozzi has a young son named Wolfie with ex-fiancee Dara Huang.
