Oct 1, 2021: A Hyderabad court sentenced two persons to three years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000 in a child pornography case.
According to Imran Riaz, Additional Director, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the Judicial Magistrate found both Waqar and Nadeem guilty.
He said the FIA Cyber Crime Wing arrested the culprits a year ago following information provided by Interpol. Waqar created a WhatsApp group called “Lovely Child” where he shared vulgar videos of children.
The other culprit also had a WhatsApp group called “Baby Video Only”. Earlier, the FIA told the Senate Standing Committee on Child Safety that it had launched a targeted operation against those who viewed and downloaded child abuse material.
“We have adopted a technical approach to dealing with the heinous act and have also introduced a new method of gathering evidence against the perpetrators,” the briefing said.
It was informed that Cyber Crime Wing is taking steps against filming and uploading child pornography material and will soon announce two major steps against the culprits involved.
