This will be the sixth match of Peshawar boys in the tournament, while the Kings will come to the ground for their fifth game. Both teams have faced each other earlier in the tournament this year, with Karachi defeating Peshawar by 10 runs.

Tournament favorites Zalmi lifted the PSL title in 2017, while finished as runners-up in the 2018 and 2019 editions. Karachi Kings, on the other hand, have yet to lift the title.
