Rangers to be deployed in Punjab following the protests and clashes

Lahore, 13th April: Following violent protests and vandalism across the country, authorities have ordered to deploy Rangers in several districts of Punjab including Lahore.

According to reports, important decisions have been taken in the important meeting chaired by the Punjab Law Minister.

It was issued in the meeting to deploy Rangers in Sheikhupura, Gujranwala and Chakwal in Punjab.

The Punjab government has also issued orders to deploy Rangers along with police in 16 sensitive areas of Lahore. If the situation worsens, then services from the Pak army will be rendered.

According to details, an important meeting of the Provincial Sub-Cabinet Committee on Home Affairs was held under the chairmanship of Law Minister Raja Basharat in which the situation of protests in Punjab province, especially in Lahore, was reviewed.

The meeting thereby took an important decision and ordered to deploy Rangers along with police at 16 places in Lahore.
Rangers and police will be deployed outside the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, GOR-1, Civil Secretariat, Governor’s House, Punjab Assembly, IG’s office.

In addition, police and Rangers will conduct joint patrols on Lahore Mall Road and Canal Road. Those who break the law and order rules will be arrested.

Addressing the meeting, Raja Basharat said that no one would be allowed to take the law into his own hands. Roads to hospitals should be kept open.
