Rape of a Kitten: Where is our society leading to?

Lahore, 28th July 2020: A group of teenage boys allegedly raped a kitten for a week until that little creature passed away.

According to the report of Baaghi TV, yesterday one of the most heinous crimes has been reported from Pakistan, where a group of teenage boys raped a kitten repeatedly for a week, after which the kitten died.

According to a post shared by a Facebook page named JFK Animal Rescue And Shelter, the poor little kitten was reportedly adopted by the family of the culprit where he abused it on a daily basis until she died after suffering from crushed internal organs.

This is one of the worst kinds of crimes reported recently and that too carried by a group of young boys on an animal. The kitten was raped by a 15-year-old boy along with his friends and cousins in Lahore. The kitten died two nights back after extreme pain, trauma, and damage that these monsters caused.

The post further informed that the vet to whom the kitten was taken to confirmed that the tiny creature was brutally abused. He refused to give anything in writing to avoid further involvement in the case. However, he quoted, “The culprits used shopping bags for the act which were left inside the poor cat,” the post added.

The case was reported by a girl who had been monitoring these kids and always kept an eye on the kitten. She saw that the kitten was in a terrible condition. She often offered help for taking in the cat but they refused, when they damaged her completely they gave the kitten to her after she insisted again. The girl literally prayed for the kitten to be taken by God because she could not see her misery and pain.

The girl reported the incident to the animal foundation which has raised its voice to stop such crimes that are taking place with the animals recently.

Upon investigation, one of the culprits’ mother denied the allegations and said, “My son hasn’t done this.” According to that mother, the crime must have been done by somebody from the street. Instead of punishing her own son, she is adamant to put the blame on somebody else.

Pakistani actor Osman Khalid Butt is among the few celebrities who have openly talked against this monstrous crime and shared on his Instagram account condemning the act.

How can we ever build a society where wrong is never labeled wrong, where parents refuse to educate their children and rather cover them for their crimes?

It should be the duty of parents and the educational institutes to educate children about the values of humanity. It is high time for the parents to awaken and take notice of the activities their kids indulge in.

Turning a blind eye and providing our children with whatever they require is not the solution. We need to seriously sit with our kids and start involving ourselves in their bringing up so that such and other crimes can be reduced from our society.
